School is back!

Well the kids started school on Wednesday. Destiny is in 7th grade, and Michael is in 4th. Destiny is in band and chorus. The band takes some trips during the the year. One of them is to Laughlin, Nevada, I think that is the first Saturday in March, which happens to be the day after her birthday. So anyway we have a trip already to save money for. Luckily Laughlin is just south of us, somewhere around Vegas. So we know we will have at least a 3 hour drive, it could be worse. We were thinking it was up near Reno, that would be even longer. Whew....dodged a long trip there.

Lincoln County Fair.

Below are some of the things that were at the Lincoln County Fair. These are some that caught my eye, and I liked them. So I took pictures of them and posted them here to share. I still have to post the pics of the things that I submitted to the fair. The monster quilt, (with monsters on it), is the one that won voters choice at the fair.

USA!

These are stitched on here, each state, the capital, and in numerical order. On the top is the whole USA.

This is a sunflower quilt. I absolutely LOVED this one, but then maybe I am biased because I love sunflowers.

These are knitted and then stuffed. They are so cute.

This reminds me of a spring break kind of blanket.

This is a high chair hand painted by Barbra Rhode. It was soo cute.

This cross stitch was done by the mom of one of the girls in my 4-H cross stitch club.

This is a submission from a new jewelry store that is up in Pioche now. I love purple so I had to post it.

This one won voters choice. It is very cute.

4-H quilts

These are some of the quilts made by other 4-Hers in Lincoln County.

Wood Burning.

These are some wood burnings done by some 4-H'ers. I just liked these ones and wanted to take some pictures to share with you.

A friend of mike's grew some big zuccini.

Destiny's Salsa

Destiny was in a cooking club this year too, they made salsa for the Fair. They made strawberry raspberry jam, and breads, and India Chicken Curry inthe club. Michael was in a different cooking club, and sorry to say we didn't have time to make a food dish for the fair.

Mike's cross stitch.

This was done by one of my 4-H kids. He did a good job.

Destiny won first and Grand Marshall on her cross stitch.

Destiny's Cross Stitch

Destiny made this in the 4-H cross stitch club with me.

Destiny's sewing.

She made pajama pants in the same club with Michael. This is her second year of sewing club. Her first year she made a pillow case, and a tote bag.

Mike's first attemt at sewing.

He made pajama pants in his 4-H sewing club. He told me when he signed up for this club that then he would be able to teach me and Destiny to sew, and he wouldn't have to wait for me to sew his things. ( I though good, you'll know how to sew when you are on your own.)

This is Mike's attempt this year at quilting, he made a hot pad. Maybe next year he will make a small quilt.

Close up of part of her quilt and her ribbon. In case you were wondering its theme is a music quilt.

Destiny's quilt.

She won 1st place and also Reserve Grand Marshall. The pink thing on it is a note from the judges. She made this in the quilting club with me. The quilt is tied.
